Go Finland!
When you think of Finland you probably think of snow, ice, reindeers and depression. Well, think again. Finland has presented a new image for itself on a soon to be released postal stamp.
Part of 33 other new stamps, the homoerotic stamp in question features muscled men dressed in leather and a man’s nicely shaped ass. The images are made by Touko Laaksonen, one of Finland’s most prominent illustrators known for his gay themed body of work.
The Finnish postal service hopes the confidence and proud homoeroticism oozing from Laaksonen’s work will inspire the mostly timid Finnish nation to take life by its balls and just go for it. “The sheet portrays a sensual life force and being proud of oneself,” Timo Berry, a graphic designer who helped select the art, explains. “There is never too much of that in this northern country.”
Good for you, Finland.
